Can I use a treadmill with a lower weight capacity?

Can you answer Aaron V’s question about Treadmill?:
I am planning on buying a treadmill and am on a budget. I am around 300 lbs and another person who will use it is about 350 lbs. However, almost every treadmill that isn’t super expensive has weight limits from 250 to 300 lbs at most. Neither of us will be running at all on the treadmill. We will just walk probably at a range of 2 mph to 3.5 mph.

Will a lighter capacity treadmill be able to support us if we just walk?

Treadmill Feedback: Probably it will be OK. But the treadmill will wear out sooner and require more frequent maintenance.
