Troubleshooting a Fold-up Proform Treadmill?

I recently bought a Proform XP-615 treadmill. Like most other proform treadmills, it is the type that folds up. Since I live in a very small apartment, I usually fold it up between workouts so it doesn’t take up much space.
However, everytime I unfold it and start my workout, in the beginning there is a loud cracking sound when I put pressure on the belt up near the the front end (toward the console). It only does this once per fold-down, so it seems like it’s just something settling into place, but that doesn’t keep me from worrying that it might introduce wear and tear.
The assembly was relatively simple so I’m not convinced the problem is from erroneous assembly.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and did you find out what the problem was?

Treadmill Feedback: It sounds like it could be some broken plastic piece someplace, but if it’s broke it shouldn’t keep breaking. If it’s not level something’s broken.
Treadmill Feedback: I wonder if there’s a lever you’re supposed to be using or something…did you read your manual..if you still have it, try to call the customer service number.
Treadmill Feedback: Where did you buy it? Do you offer an in-home check?
My treadmill failed after several years but it was found by the technician that it was a faulty design as it cracked at the solder joint.
Places like Sears offer in-home yearly maintenance programs for a good reason. Mine was as lifesaver since I didn’t have to pay a dime for the maintenance and the treadmill was replaced by the company completely free!
Check it out.
I have lost my Proform 615 treadmill manual & cannot figure out how to fold the treadmill back down? Can anyone help?
After about twenty minutes, my 650 shuts down (just the belt). Has anyone had a like problem? I checked around the motor for accumulated dust or anything else that doesn’t look right. Everything appeared to be normal. Any suggestions?
Opps….typing mistake… should have typed 615 not 650.
